The challenge
How can a complex climate-risk model become an understandable, explorable public experience without overstating the authority of demonstration data?
Audience and constraints
Development organizations, public institutions, climate and resilience teams, analysts, consultants and communities interested in geospatial decision-support tools.
The prototype had to work without paid map services, make the synthetic-data limitation unmistakable, support district-level exploration and remain usable across desktop and mobile screens.
Process and contribution
Defined the risk-exploration journey, structured deterministic demonstration data, connected Uganda district boundaries to filterable indicators, designed 2D and 3D analytical views, and documented methodology, accessibility, data provenance and future official-data integration.
My contribution: Product concept, UX/UI, information architecture, data storytelling, prototype development, responsive design, accessibility, documentation and quality assurance.
Outcome and learning
The source prototype supports multidimensional filtering, district profiles, scenario comparison, exports and 2D/3D views. This portfolio edition preserves the essential exploration flow in a fast, self-contained browser experience with a dataset more than 95% smaller than the original application package.
